Terms of Service

Last updated: 29 May 2025

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of CompSci Tutoring, operated by Gareth Edgell ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using our website at compscitutoring.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. About the service

CompSci Tutoring provides free and premium revision resources for GCSE and A Level Computer Science students, including question banks, revision notes, flashcards, coding courses, and optional 1-to-1 tutoring sessions with Gareth Edgell.

2. Accounts

To access certain features you may need to create a free account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and password. You must not share your account credentials or allow others to access your account.

You must provide accurate information when creating your account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

4. Intellectual property

All content on this platform — including revision questions, notes, flashcard content, course materials, and blog posts — is owned by Gareth Edgell or licensed to us. You may use the content for your own personal study purposes only.

You may not reproduce, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from our content without prior written permission.

5. Tutoring services

1-to-1 tutoring sessions are provided by Gareth Edgell. Booking and payment terms are agreed separately at the time of booking. We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule sessions with reasonable notice.

Our cancellation policy: sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice may be charged in full. Sessions cancelled by us will be rescheduled at no extra cost.

6. Free tier and premium content

Much of the platform is free to access. We reserve the right to introduce paid tiers or restrict access to certain features in the future. Any existing free content will be maintained for a reasonable period following any such changes.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

The revision content on this platform is provided in good faith for educational purposes. While we aim for accuracy — and the content is written by a teacher with examiner experience — we cannot guarantee that all content is error-free or that it will result in any particular exam outcome. You should always consult your teacher and the official exam board specification.

The platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CompSci Tutoring shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including but not limited to lost data, exam results, or loss of earnings.

Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Third-party links

The platform may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those sites.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
